Riviera Pebbles Blog: Exclusive Côté Sud Parfums signature brand
Posted on 11th Oct 2017 in Guest Info
Regular guests may have noticed that our toiletries have changed, as we phased out working with the high street brand L’Occitane to the more exclusive and local Côté Sud Parfum.
The change came about earlier this year when we put in our regular order to L’Occitane, and it was refused! After five years of working with them, L’Occitane had changed its marketing strategy and would only now supply hotels that had a four or five-star rating. This rating isn’t open to an apartment rental agency, even though many of our properties beat the room standards hands down.
Well, they say that every cloud has a silver lining. We rolled up our sleeves and got busy looking for a new supplier for when our existing stock ran dry. We had enjoyed the international brand of a mass market high street product, we LOVED IT when the samples arrived from the exclusive brand of HD Fragrances. Oh, what we and our guests had been missing! We placed an order straightaway.
Why did we like them so much? Here’s five reasons why:
- We love exclusivity, and know our guests do too.
Founded in 2009 by the perfumer Olivier Decoster, and made in Italy, just across the border, the products are now becoming known as a distractive toiletries brand offering high quality but still with a discreet, small scale luxury brand. Pebbles has exclusivity for the French Riviera and so you won’t find the products anywhere else. - They don’t make even the most sensitive skin itch
I always liked the shower gel of L’Occitane, but couldn’t tolerate the shampoo for my sensitive scalp. I’m lathering up daily on the gorgeous Côté Sud Parfums shampoo. There are no parabens, no phthalates in any of their products, unlike most high street and supermarket brands. - We’ve a special relationship with the brand, which shares the same ethos as ours.
It’s special to have a personal relationship with the supplier and know how passionate they are about the product rather than working with a high street chain. Our ethos has always been « Big enough to count, small enough to care ». The same with these toiletries. - Positive feedback from guests
We’re pleased to have received positive feedback from guests too since we launched the new range back in our apartments in July. We are now rolling out the range to all our properties, and will be updating our marketing. - It’s all about the nose! Something the South of France is famous for.
In France, wine and perfumery are all about the intoxicating hues. Guests will find in the shampoo and shower gel, the Agrumes de Calabre. Master perfumer Olivier Decoster tells us “This energizing perfume opens with multiple top notes of fresh citrus, pink grapefruit and bergamot blended with warm elegant floral notes.”
Enjoy!
