Riviera Pebbles Blog: Cote d’Azur Card: the Riviera’s best bargain returns
Posted on 23rd Apr 2018 in History
It’s back. The tourism pass that grants free entry to the Riviera’s 50 top sights was relaunched in April 2018.
Wine-tasting in Nice? A boat tour from Cannes? A trip into Italy? They’re all free with the Cote d’Azur Card.
WThe card costs €45 for three days of action-packed activity. That’s just €15 per day – around £13, or $17. Kids passes are half-price. Buy yours online here.
Visitors to Nice will find the pass pays for itself within the first hour. Sightseers can partake in nine completely free activities, more than any other Riviera destination. These include a hop-on hop-off bus tour (normally €22) and a Segway ride along the Promenade des Anglais (normally €17).
Oh-so-cool Cannes is the card’s second most served city, with eight free activities and a dozen more with discounts. Some are seriously A-list. Hang five with a paddleboard tour along La Croisette (usually €13), where Jay Z and Béyonce stomp each summer. Or catch the ferry to secret island Saint Honorat (usually €16.50), where stars like Johnny Depp avoid the hoi polloi for lunch by the sea.
Too pricey? While the deals above are cheaper than a Premier League football ticket (and impart a far better taste) if they break your budget then read on.
And for families? A full 71 activities are specifically for kids, with 12 located in the Mercantour National Park above Nice. These include eBike tours in Roubion (normally €20) and Ewok-style treetop adventures (normally €14).
The best deal in the house? The pass’s biggest bargain is worth more than the card itself. The five coach trips offered by My Nice Excursion normally cost a whopping €48 each. Choose between a luxury tour of Monaco and Eze, a daytrip to St Tropez, or a ride to the chic Italian town of San Remo.
With the Cote d’Azur Card the French Riviera is your oyster.
