Riviera Pebbles Blog: New Arrivals for May, with Introductory Offers
Posted on 17th May 2014 in Pebbles Properties
What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter - a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.
Henri Matisse
Henri Matisse’s dreams would have all come true if he’d stayed at our new addition, Serenity. Too bad for him, but not for our guests. This three bedroom holiday apartment with a balcony is an elegant as the Hotel Regina in Cimiez that that Matisse made his home for many years.
Sarah and Richard Neiland from London, bought Serenity through Nice Pebbles Sales earlier this year. This gorgeous apartment was bought as a second home having weighed up all that Nice has to offer. “We know that sun, good food, wine and beautiful surroundings make us very happy and making Nice our European base was an irresistible choice. Nice meets all of our needs for having fun and enjoying French life. It's a great base from which we explore some of the most fabulous parts of France and Italy. It's easy for friends and family to visit as the transport links are second to none”.
It is easy to see why they fell in love with this apartment – the space and light are hard to beat in the city centre, the apartment has been newly refurbished and its high ceilings, sun-cast light bouncing off the parquet floors and white walls gave Richard and Sarah a blank canvass to work their magic. And boy, did they have the spell just right. The décor is classy and elegant throughout, with signature pieces to make this a truly individual home waiting to be shared with our guests.
Guests should also note that, as the name suggests, this apartment is as quiet as you can get in the middle of a city. As Richard and Sarah explained: “We are light sleepers, but the guy who refurbished it explained to us that the wall, ceiling and floor had been sound insulated. It was music to our ears! It's so quiet, yet we are in the heart of the city - you can see the top of the famous Negresco Hotel from our window. The living areas are south- facing above a quiet courtyard, with a balcony that is a sun trap all day.”
As Serenity is new to the market, there’s an introductory discount offer for May and June 2014. So if you can pack quickly, you’re not only in for a treat, but in for a bargain.
Another new addition with an introductory offer for May and June is Agatha, again bought through Nice Pebbles Sales earlier this year. David and Anna Grunfeld were guests who stayed with Pebbles a few years ago and now become one of our Owners. Nothing is more flattering to us when that happens.
They choose Agatha because it just felt right when they visited it, and now they have stayed there themselves David tells us he couldn’t be happier with their choice. “I love this apartment. The sense of peace that comes over me when I walk in from a long day at the beach or wandering the charming streets of Vieux Nice – a true feast for the senses – to a private, stylish and serene environment. We’ve put a lot of time and thought into the apartment, so we hope that people love it as much as we do.”
It is now and furnished ready for our guests to enjoy. This apartment doesn’t just ooze classical charm in the interior design but also has a rarity for the Old Town of Nice – a lift. Situated on the artistic street of rue Droite, with sculptures, painting and canvasses displayed from show windows aplenty, our guess is Matisse would have enjoyed staying here too. In fact it’s only a few minute walk from the Cours Saleya and Matisse’s first abode in Nice, the Beau Rivage, where guests can enjoy one of the best beach clubs in Nice.
