Riviera Pebbles Blog: Nice Etoile shopping mall, Nice
Posted on 19th Nov 2018 in Go & Do
Nothing fades faster than visions of the future. Born in 1981, Nice Etoile could have easily dated into a naff mall that hocked velour pantalons. Plus cheap, plasticky luggage of the sort that garners scornful looks on the London-Nice BA route. Fortunately the city’s premier shopping centre has a history of reinventing itself. In place of bistros and bijouteries, Nice Etoile now offers sushi and smoothies, plus free WiFi and 24-hour parking.
It’s also pressie central. Hit the Bialetti store for coffeemakers and Princesse Tam-Tam for lingerie. There are other reasons for Nice Etoile’s enduring commercial charms. First are the timeless lashings of marble, corian and Baccarat crystal used to build the complex three decades ago. The second is the inclusion of a flagship Habitat store, which is kept in profit by 150 or so Pebbles’ property owners.
